Accreditation and Affiliations
Affiliation with MidAmerica Nazarene University
Since 1977, European Nazarene College has been affiliated with MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) in Olathe, Kansas in the United States of America (www.mnu.edu). The Bachelor of Arts degree offered by EuNC is issued by MidAmerica Nazarene University, and is therefore an American degree that is internationally recognised.
Accredited by the North Central Association of College and Schools
Through its contractural relationship with MidAmerica Nazarene University, EuNC is accredited by the Higher Learning Comission (HLC) of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org) to offer the baccalaureate programme at the campus in Büsingen and various baccalaureate courses at its off-campus locations. The baccalaureate courses offered at these off-campus locations are limited to the first two levels of the baccalaureate programme. Because all courses offered by EuNC can count towards the BA, every single course needs to meet the criteria established by the accrediting association that validates the BA. This relates to all courses either on campus or in the learning centres.
Recognised Nazarene Educational Institution
European Nazarene College is listed by the International Board of Education (IBOE) of the Church of the Nazarene as one of the official educational institutions of the Church of the Nazarene and is a member of the Eurasia Educational Council (EEC) of the Church of the Nazarene.
Approved Curriculum for Ordained Ministry in the Church of the Nazarene
The Christian Ministry Certificate of European Nazarene College has been approved by the International Course of Study Advisory Committee (ICOSAC) of the Church of the Nazarene for meeting the minimum requirements for ordained ministry within the districts of the Church of the Nazarene for which EuNC is the educational provider. Each district has clearly defined ordination requirements that either follow the minimum requirements or exceed these. In other words, EuNC students who are candidates for ordination would be required, by each district of the Church of the Nazarene, to complete the Christian Ministry Certificate, and, in some cases, the district involved may also require additional coursework. It is important to realize that the individual districts set these criteria—not the school—and variations between the districts are possible. However, the requirements of the Christian Ministry Certificate are what all district programmes have in common.
Member of the European Evangelical Accrediting Association
European Nazarene College is a member of the European Evangelical Accrediting Association (EEAA).
