European Nazarene College is an institution of the International Church of the
Nazarene whose purpose is the preparation of men and women for active ministry
both in the European context and in cross-cultural ministry.
Theologically, the college stands in the Wesleyan-Arminian and Evangelical traditions.
The academic programme of the college meets a broad range of ministry goals from the
establishment of foundations of the Christian faith through preparation for higher
academic qualifications.
The educational philosophy of the college focuses on preparation for mission and
ministry through the pursuit of academic excellence, ongoing spiritual formation and
the practice and development of ministerial skills and abilities which are professional
and which reflect a Christ-like attitude of “servant ministry". Within this focus on the
whole person, EuNC shapes its curriculum content and approach to education.
The goal of the college programme is not only academic and service skills but also the
development of a vital relationship with God based upon the authority of the Bible and
the standard of Christian holiness.
EuNC is more than only campus education; it was one school with many decentralised
learning centres. In this, the aim of EuNC is to make theological education available
to as many students as possible. It seeks to use current technology to serve the growing
number of non-traditional students who are not able to stay a certain number of years at
the campus. The school’s goal is to offer the same quality of education at all of its teaching sites.
EuNC is an international school by intent. The diversity of countries and cultures is an
important aspect of the learning process, especially for those working toward cross-
cultural ministry.
