John Haines graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a B.A. in Religion and an M.A. degree in Old Testament. He received the M.Div. degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary and was ordained by the British Isles SouthDistrict in 1982. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Education and Religious Studies through the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
Haines is a global missionary with the Church of the Nazarene serving in Switzerland.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as an associate in youth and music, and
as pastor for ten years in Britain. He received missionary assignment at the Eurasia
Regional Office in Bolton, England in 1985. He transferred to Schaffhausen, Switzerland,
with the relocation of the regional office in 1990. He was granted a global contract in
February 1992. In addition to his duties in the regional office, he served as the Northern
Europe Field Director, and is presently serving as Regional Education Coordinator, and
Regional Literature Development Coordinator.
