Faculty Assembly and Board of Trustees Meetings 2019

Dates, Times and Location

We will be holding our annual Board of Trustees meeting and Faculty Assembly for 2019 in Ede, the Netherlands. The Board of Trustees meeting will begin on Monday, 4 February 2019 at 08:30 and conclude in the afternoon. The Faculty Assembly will begin with the joint worship service on Monday, 4 February 2018 at 19:30 and end on Thursday, 7 February 2019 with the noon meal.

NOTE: The learning centres of the CIS will have a field faculty meeting following our meetings (until Friday, 8 February). This event is reserved for those who have received a particular invitation.

Registration Deadline

You should get your registration in as soon as possible but no later than 6 January 2019. This will allow us to confirm the reservations that are needed for your time in Ede.

By Invitation Only: EuNC Board of Trustees members, Full-time Faculty, Part-time Faculty, and selected Local Faculty (selected by their LC coordinators and approved by the Rector, depending on available space).

Room, Board and Travel

The hotel costs, transportation to/from the airport and meals will be covered by EuNC for the duration of the meetings to which you are invited. If you wish to come earlier or stay longer, that is possible, but at your own expense. Please indicate the additional days on the registration form and we will bill you for that separately.

We have reserved rooms at the 50/50 Hotel Belmont (http://www.5050-belmont.nl). You should not contact the hotel directly as this is being handled by us through your registration form. Meals will be provided during the meeting by the college. Please indicate on the registration form if you have any special dietary or room needs.

Expenses for your travel to and from the Netherlands need to be worked out with your local Learning Centre, your district or your field.

If you require a visa to enter the Netherlands, please indicate this on the registration form. You probably have been contacted by us already; nevertheless, check the appropriate box so that we can make sure the necessary invitation has been issued. The Netherlands Learning Centre will be working with you to help in the process of securing this.

The meetings will be conducted in English. If translation is needed, please organize that by Learning Centre and/or field.

He and Shelly have two adult children, Jimmie and Annie, and a daughter-in-law, Leslie.

Arrival and Departure

If you arrive by plane, please make sure to fly into the international airport, Amsterdam (Schiphol) , (with the abbreviation AMS).   Transportation from the airport to the hotel is organised.

Schiphol airport is rather large.  We want everyone to come to the official meeting point in the main hall, which is a red and white cubical, about 5 metres tall (see: meetingpoint Schiphol). Everywhere in the airport you will find signs to this official meeting point. At the meeting point look for a person with an “EuNC sign”. Keep in mind that transportation time between the airport in Amsterdam and the hotel in Ede is about 60 minutes.

We will also organise the transportation from the hotel to the airport for your departure. That is why we need your arrival and departure times when you register online. Thank you.

NOTE: The currency used in the Netherlands is the Euro.

Wednesday Afternoon Sightseeing

On Wednesday afternoon there are no seminars planned. We want to give some time to relax and suggest the following options for you to spend that afternoon:

  • Chartered bus trip to the city of Amsterdam. The bus will take you downtown and you can spend the afternoon in one of the following three ways
    1. Boat tour in Amsterdam.
    2. Visit to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
    3. You spend the afternoon in Amsterdam on your own
All these options involve additional personal cost. We do not yet have exact figures, however, we hope to keep the total cost at under 30,00 € (bus trip for about 15,00 € and entrance fee for about 15,00 €).
  • You can also stay at the hotel. There you may want to relax or take a walk in the nearby forest.

NOTE: Please, indicate on the registration form which option you prefer so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

We will be back for the evening meal at the hotel.
