Congratulations to the 2023-2024 Graduates of European Nazarene College!

Embracing God's Love and Mission

The highlight of this academic year has been the graduation ceremonies at European Nazarene College. They proved once again their central role for celebrating the culmination of academic journeys and spiritual growth in students' lives.

One of the key themes of our celebrations was the theme of the 2023-24 Academic Year, the profound impact of "Grow in Love" which has guided our students’ exploration into the depths of academic disciplines while fostering a deep understanding of Christ's love. Reflecting on Ephesians 3:18-19, the Apostle Paul's prayer resonates deeply:” to know this love that surpasses knowledge”.

The mission of EuNC is “Enabling Christlike Disciples for Ministry”. We desire to be a college that equips individuals to live out their calling and prepare for Christian service in churches and the world. We celebrate the transformative power of Christ's love in shaping our graduates' academic pursuits and personal journeys.

Graduates, we rejoice with you and with all who have supported you — your local church, family, friends, pastors, mentors, faculty, and the Learning Centre Coordinators and Administrators. I extend heartfelt thanks to the faculty for their dedication, the Church for their unwavering support, and our private and church donors for investing in the lives of these students!

As graduates of EuNC, each of you now carries forward this transformative love into your respective callings and endeavors. Whether you are entering ministry, pursuing further studies, or engaging in professional pursuits, may you continue to be strengthened by the enduring love of God.

Your achievements are celebrated across the international EuNC community, where your journey is supported, and your future impact is eagerly anticipated.

EuNC had 31 graduates in the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

The graduates are associated with the following Learning Centres:

16 graduates earned a Diploma in Christian Ministry (DCM),
2 receiving Summa Cum Laude honours, 2 receiving Magna Cum Laude honours, and 2 receiving Cum Laude honours.
15 graduates earned a Certificate in Spiritual Formation (CSF)
and will continue with the DCM programme.

Andreas with members from the EuNC Germany Learning Centre Committee

The EuNC Germany Learning Centre celebrated the graduation of Andreas Hesse on 12 September. He received the Diploma in Christian Ministry at a Pastor's Retreat in Bad Blankenburg. Andreas Hesse served as pastor of the Gottmadingen Church of the Nazarene from June 2018 until May 2023. Since 1 July 2023 he has been working in a Lutheran church in Naila (Upper Fraconia). He is married and has 4 children. He received a special gift as a keepsake: a shirt saying "Pastor out of Passion".

The EuNC Portugal Learning Day of the 2023-2024 Academic Year on 5 October was of special significance as it celebrated together with the graduation of two students. One student received the Certificate in Spiritual Formation, one the Diploma in Christian Ministry. Students, teachers, pastors, the graduates’ families and people from the local faith communities were present in the ceremony. Rute and Ruben Alves, known Christian singers, ministered in song and led the participants in praise. Aligned with EuNC’s theme for this new academic year, “To know the love of God that surpasses knowledge”, Rector Rev. Mária Gusztinné Tulipán challenged the participants to never disconnect love from knowledge in their daily lives and studies, based on Ephesians 3:14-21.

After the ceremony, the already traditional EuNC Portugal Learning Centre annual banquet took place at a nearby restaurant. The graduates shared their testimonies and one of them received the Bereia Award (an annual award given to the student that takes most of the courses offered by the LC and with the highest GPA during the previous academic year).

Everyone present was thrilled to be part of this joyful day and look forward to what God has in store in the lives of our graduates.

The graduation ceremony held on October 27th at the EuNC Albania-Kosova Learning Centre in Suharekё, Kosova was a momentous occasion, celebrating the academic achievements of DCM programme students Andi Fekollari and Selim Kolgeci as they received their Certificate of Spiritual Formation. The event commenced with warm greetings and prayers, followed by uplifting worship songs. Rector Rev. Maria Gusztinné Tulipán, along with Rev. Edlira Biti, LC Administrator, presided over the graduation ceremony, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of the graduates. The event took place during the Albania-Kosova District Assembly, and was followed by a time of fellowship and a celebratory meal, fostering community spirit.

The event featured an alumni and Learning Centre gathering, while showcasing EuNC's offerings to potential students. Alumni shared inspiring journeys at EuNC highlighting the transformative impact of education nurtured in a supportive environment. This gathering not only reinforced community bonds but also underscored the commitment to academic excellence and personal growth, ensuring future students are equipped to thrive and contribute meaningfully.

We are thankful for the work of the faculty and the leadership of interim LC Coordinator Alan Schrock and LC Administrator Edlira Biti. The Rector expressed heartfelt gratitude to the District Assembly of the Albania-Kosova District for their steadfast support of higher education and EuNC with District Superintendent Rev. Ergest Biti expressing the District’s continued support for EuNC.

The EuNC Italy Learning Centre celebrated a blessed achievement during the Italy District Assembly in Catania on 5 November. General Superintendent Rev. Dr. Carla Sunberg, EuNC Rector Rev. Mária Gusztinné Tulipán as well as EuNC Italy Learning Centre faculty, students, and alumni were among the guests. Participants got to witness the graduation of one student from the Certificate of Spiritual Formation programme as well as two students receiving their Diploma in Christian Ministry. It was an atmosphere of happiness and gratefulness, reflecting the investment of the students, the support from the local churches, and the district's commitment to theological education through the EuNC Italy Learning Centre. Several generations of EuNC alumni were present, testifying to a theological education that lasts.

The best outcome is to acknowledge that these graduates are now also actively engaged in their local churches, serving God’s kingdom and his people, in many nations and many ways! We ask for prayers as Certificate in Spiritual Formation graduate Flora Iodice continues her studies through the Diploma in Christian Ministry programme and for the new group of students starting on their educational journey.

The Wesley Theological Day's Jubilee Worship Service and the EuNC Graduation Ceremony held on November 18, 2023, at the Rózsafüzér királynéja Church in Budapest, was a momentous occasion marked by the graduation of five students. The event brought together members of the Wesley Alliance Hungary, EuNC alumni, faculty, and current students. Highlights included a sermon by the Rector Rev. Mária Gusztinné Tulipán, moving choral pieces by the Esterházy Choir, and the diploma presentation led by EuNC Hungary Learning Centre Coordinator Rev. Gábor Szuhánszky T. The ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of academic achievement and spiritual growth. The day concluded with expressions of gratitude, the distribution of diplomas, and a communal meal that fostered a spirit of fellowship and joy among attendees.

In January, the learning community in Spain rejoiced together with the church at its District Assembly with the graduation of another long-standing student who has now completed the requirements to graduate with her Diploma in Christian Ministry. This has been a longer journey then initially expected, which made the celebration even more meaningful considering the resilience and persistence of the student. We appreciated the words from our Rector as she led the graduation ceremony and her encouragement to our community. Each graduation is a time of celebration of God’s faithfulness in the life of our students as they achieve a milestone in their Christian journey of service to God and the Church, and we praise God for it!

On Sunday, 5 May, EuNC Croatia Learning Centre students Donya Y. and Shavan K. celebrated their graduation from the Certificate in Spiritual Formation Programme.
